Once you have been nominated to UMBC by your home institution, you will receive instructions from your exchange coordinator on how to apply for admission.
You will need to provide your exchange coordinator the following information no later than April 30 (for fall admission) or October 31 (for spring admissions):
- scan of the information page of your passport;
- proof of finances of a minimum of USD 8500.00 per semester you will study at UMBC;
- unofficial transcript from your current institution.
Some students may be asked to provide a recent TOEFL or IELTS score. Please confirm with your home university’s exchange coordinator if students from your institution are required to submit TOEFL results.
During your exchange period, you will attend UMBC as a non-degree student. You will be permitted to enroll on any course which you are academically qualified. The Office of International Education Services will assist you with enrollment in courses for which you need permission from the instructor.
