There are many different cell phone plans in the U.S.
- Contract-based plan. A one year or two year contract where the student will be required to pay X amount a month for their minutes, texts, and data. All plans vary on price, availability, phone compatibility, service area, and options. Sometimes new customers are offered special deals.
- Pay as you go plan. The pay as you go plan involves going online or calling a service number in order to purchase a fixed number of minutes, texts, and data.
- eSIMs can be purchased online from many retailers. This allows you to access your SIM without having to acquire a physical SIM card.
- The OISS office has free Campus SIM cards available to all students. Campus SIM cards are free for a limited amount of service, you will need to set up an account and pay to continue using that phone number.
