Retriever CARE
Retriever CARE fosters the wellbeing and success of students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, staff, and the broader UMBC community through proactive outreach, equitable care coordination, and early intervention. By addressing a spectrum of concerns and promoting mental health awareness, the team works to reduce barriers, support holistic wellness, and cultivate a safe, compassionate, and inclusive campus environment. If you ever believe yourself or another student needs assistance, submit a Retriever CARE Referral Form.
UMBC Campus Alerts
This service allows UMBC police to contact students, faculty and staff quickly via text message in case of an important community update, traffic alert, transportation update, or emergency. Make sure you sign up for these alerts when you join UMBC and update your contact information if it ever changes.
UMBC Police
The UMBC Police Department in cooperation with the State Police, and Baltimore County Police provide mutual support in all areas of public safety that may affect the UMBC community. Any safety concern or crime can be reported using the number listed below or via the emergency blue light phones around campus. If you are concerned about your safety as you walk on campus, you can call campus police to request a safety escort and a uniformed police officer or student police aide will be dispatched to escort you to your destination.
