The Student Events Board (seb)

(seb) plans many campus events, including live music, movie nights, trips, bingo and more! (seb) is comprised of students just like you, and they work together to plan events that students would want to go to!

UMBC Student Organizations (Student Orgs)

UMBC has a large number of student organizations for undergraduate and graduate students. Student organizations are created and run by current students and offer one of the best ways to get involved in campus. Groups are centered around different interests like hobbies, sports, arts, religious beliefs, cultural groups and more!

UMBC Sports and Recreation

UMBC’s Retriever Activities Center (RAC) houses our fitness studios, weight rooms, cardio balcony, arena track, courts, and aquatics center. It also serves as the center point for our intermural and club sports teams. Whether you are trying out a new activity or looking to team up with other seasoned athletes, there is something for everyone!

Around Town

Catonsville

Catonsville’s historic main street is accessible by UMBC Transit and a great place to hang out, eat, shop, visit the farmer’s market and more!  It is also very popular for its community events and its famous 4th of July Parade.

Arbutus

Arbutus is a town adjacent to UMBC. Arbutus contains a movie theater, a barber shops, several restaurants including OCA Mocha, a coffee shop with close ties to UMBC. Arbutus is walkable from campus or accessible by UMBC Transit. The MARC Train Penn Line (servicing Baltimore and Washington, D.C.) has a station in Arbutus.

Right near campus, enjoy hiking and outdoor recreation at Patapsco State park!

Downtown Baltimore

Baltimore City has a lot to offer and is only about 8 miles from campus! There are many cultural aspects, ranging from crab feasts to Baltimore Orioles games, that are unique to Baltimore! Visit Baltimore offers information about upcoming events and celebrations.
