Same-Sex Partners

With the overturning of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in June 2014 by the U.S Supreme Court, President Obama ordered federal departments to ensure the implementation of equal federal benefits for same-sex legally married couples. As such, legally married same-sex couples can enjoy the same benefits to immigration as do opposite-sex married couples. U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents may legally sponsor their spouses for admission to the United States.
